Android Cupcake Update on the G1 in April More Than Just Rumors
A T-Mobile Spokesperson told Pocket-lint that G1 owners will get an OTA firmware update with Cupcake features sometime in April.
There have been Cupcake rumors and hearsay several times since last year of when it will be officially provided onto the G1, if at all.
This is the first that an alleged direct quote came from someone at T-Mobile, of which the spokesperson stated:
“We will be offering G1 users the firmware update sometime in April”
“We can’t say whether this will be connected with the launch of the HTC Magic as we aren’t aware of what alternations if any they are making to the operating system”
The features of this update would include:
- Onscreen Keyboard
- Video Recording
- Voice Recorder
- Stereo Bluetooth
I am assuming this is just for the US and I have never heard of pocket-lint.com before so I am skeptical but hopeful, perhaps like Charlie Brown.
Now will this really happen or will Lucy pull the football/cupcake away again?
